Abordajes del teatro argentino (siglos XVIII y XIX) desde las humanidades digitales. Codificación, publicación digital y análisis automatizado Proyecto Filo:CyT 2025-2027 (FFyL-UBA) FC25-114

Abstract

En esta nota ofrecemos un resumen sobre nuestro proyecto "Abordajes del teatro argentino (siglos XVIII y XIX) desde las humanidades digitales: codificación, publicación digital y análisis automatizado", que estudia diferentes obras de teatro producidas en el actual territorio que pertenece a la República Argentina entre los siglos XVIII y XIX aplicando metodologías y técnicas de las humanidades digitales –codificación y publicación digital, enriquecimiento semántico, minería de textos, análisis de redes sociales, etc.– que permiten nuevas formas de investigación, enseñanza y exploración del teatro en Argentina desde una perspectiva cuantitativa y digital. Esta propuesta se enmarca asimismo en la red internacional DraCor (Drama Corpora, https://dracor.org/), un ecosistema que agrupa obras dramáticas de una gran variedad de tradiciones, tiempos y lenguas, y desde la cual se pueden extraer datos informatizados de los textos, facilitando el acceso y reutilización de la información de acuerdo con los principios FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable). Así, este proyecto busca facilitar el acceso a los textos teatrales, dar visibilidad internacional al teatro argentino, contribuir a la ciencia abierta y humanidades digitales en el país, y dar nuevas formas de lectura (cercana y distante, mediante visualizaciones de datos en formato de redes, tópicos, nubes de palabras, etc.), a investigadores, docentes y estudiantes interesados en el género dramático en nuestro país.In this note, we offer a summary of our project “Approaches to Argentine Theatre (18th and 19th Centuries) from the Perspective of Digital Humanities: Encoding, Digital Publication and Computational Analysis,” which studies different theatrical works produced in the territory that currently belongs to the Argentine Republic between the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries by applying methodologies and techniques from the digital humanities — digital encoding and publication, semantic enrichment, text mining, social network analysis, etc. — that enable new forms of research, teaching, and exploration of theatre in Argentina from a quantitative and digital perspective. This proposal is also part of the international network DraCor (Drama Corpora), an ecosystem that brings together dramatic works from a wide variety of traditions, periods, and languages, from which machine-readable data can be extracted from texts, facilitating access to and reuse of information in accordance with the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable). Thus, this project seeks to facilitate access to theatrical texts, provide international visibility to Argentine theatre, contribute to open science and digital humanities in the country, and offer new forms of reading (close and distant, through data visualizations such as networks, topics, word clouds, etc.) to researchers, teachers, and students interested in the dramatic genre in our country.
