Abstract:
Husserl had pointed out the limits of the cogito when showing that its evidence is apodictic but and inquiring such subjets as passive synthesis. But the impact of the notion of the inconscious (that "great humiliation", as Freud puts it) went much further: it showed that conscience cannot be the grounds (Grund): the reflexive philosopher faces an abyss (Abgrund). Ricoeur tries to save it by complementing the hermenutics of the inconscious, faced towards the archaic, with a hermeneutics closer to the Phenomenology of Spirit established by Hegel, wich faces the rising of new symbols, of ascending figures. Such dialectic between a regressive, archeologic hermeneutics and one wich is progressive, teleologic enlightens the symbolic function of art and of culture in general.
