Identidad, arqueología y ancestralidad genética en Luján, Buenos Aires

Abstract

Se presentan y analizan los primeros resultados sobre ancestralidad genética de la ciudad de Luján informados por el proyecto “Conocimientos de identidades argentinas. Una investigación en Luján”. Estos resultados se compararon con estudios arqueológicos referidos al poblamiento temprano del continente americano y su evidencia en la región pampeana en general y la cuenca del río Luján en particular, como así también la potencialidad de los estudios genéticos en las investigaciones arqueológicas, aportadas en el caso del poblamiento de la Patagonia argentina. Si bien son aún escasas, las evidencias arqueológicas indican que la cuenca del río Luján ya estaba habitada hace alrededor de 12.000 años antes del presente, cuando aún habitaba la megafauna actualmente extinguida. Recién a partir del Holoceno tardío se habría producido un aumento demográfico significativo, vinculado a la incorporación de nuevas tecnologías, registrándose sitios de ocupaciones mas prolongadas. Estudios futuros permitirás indagar acerca de la posible filiación entre estas sociedades y la población actual de Luján.

The first results on genetic ancestrality of the city of Luján informed by the project "Knowledge of Argentine Identities. An investigation in Luján. " These results were compared with archaeological studies referring to the early settlement of the American continent and its evidence in the Pampean region in general and the Luján river basin in particular, as well as the potential of the genetic studies in the archaeological investigations, provided in the case of the settlement of Argentine Patagonia. Although they are still scarce, archaeological evidence indicates that the Luján River basin was already inhabited around 12,000 years ago, when the megafauna that was currently extinct was still living. Only after the late Holocene would there have been a significant demographic increase, linked to the incorporation of new technologies, registering sites of longer occupations. Future studies will allow you to inquire about the possible affiliation between these societies and the current population of Luján.
